Relatives, friends and public figures gathered for the funeral of Yaron Licht, sharing memories of a man whose final days brought many of those closest to him to his bedside. Speakers included rabbis, former municipal leaders and members of Licht’s extended family.
Afula Mayor Avi Elkabetz, himself newly returned from mourning his father, spoke about visiting Licht during his final ten days and the moving conversations they shared. Because Licht left no children, Elkabetz recited Kaddish for him. Several friends also committed to saying the prayer throughout the coming year, ensuring that his memory will continue to be honored.
