A section of Balfour Street in Nahariya will remain closed to vehicle traffic during working hours until Sunday, 23 August, while the city’s water corporation carries out infrastructure upgrades.
According to Mei Nahariya, the municipal water corporation, the works are part of a wider project to upgrade Nahariya’s water and sewage systems.
Crews will install a new sewage line along Balfour Street, requiring the section between Balfour Street 51 and Kaplan Street to be closed to vehicles.

Dates: Sunday, 9 August to Sunday, 23 August 2026
Working days: Sunday through Thursday
Hours: 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (08:30–17:00)
Location: Balfour Street, between No. 51 and Kaplan Street
Restriction: Closed to vehicle traffic during working hours
The affected section is expected to reopen outside the stated working hours. Drivers who regularly travel through the area should plan ahead, allow additional travel time and use alternative routes while the work is underway.
The project is scheduled to continue through Sunday, 23 August.
Mei Nahariya apologised for the temporary inconvenience and thanked residents for their patience while the infrastructure improvements are completed.
