Police officers conducting a routine patrol in Acre arrested a 16-year-old scooter rider after allegedly finding 5.56mm ammunition in a pouch he was carrying.
According to Israel Police, officers from the Acre Police Station were patrolling the city and its alleyways when they noticed a scooter rider whose face was covered by a mask.
The officers stopped the rider for questioning and searched a pouch in his possession. Police said they found ammunition compatible with 5.56mm firearms inside.
The rider was identified as a 16-year-old minor. He was arrested and taken into custody, while the ammunition was seized by police.
Police said officers in Acre conduct ongoing patrols and searches throughout the city as part of efforts to identify and prevent criminal activity in public areas.
No further information has been released regarding the number of rounds discovered, how the ammunition was obtained, or whether additional charges are expected. Because the suspect is a minor, his identity has not been published.
