Nahariya to Light Up with a Spectacular Festival of Lights This August
This August, Nahariya is set to transform into one of the most magical destinations in the Western Galilee as the city hosts the Nahariya Festival of Lights—a free evening attraction that will illuminate streets, public spaces, and the promenade with stunning artistic light installations.
Running from 4 August through 20 August, the festival invites families, couples, and visitors from across Israel to experience Nahariya in a completely new way. As the sun sets each evening, the city will come alive with glowing sculptures, immersive light displays, visual projections, laser effects, and innovative digital art, turning everyday locations into an open-air gallery under the night sky.
Whether you’re strolling along the promenade, exploring the city centre, or simply enjoying a summer evening outdoors, you’ll discover a constantly changing route filled with colourful surprises, interactive displays, and plenty of photo opportunities.
✨ A Summer Evening for the Whole Family
The Festival of Lights has been designed as a family-friendly experience suitable for all ages. Children can marvel at the giant illuminated artworks, while adults can enjoy the unique atmosphere as technology, creativity, and public art come together to transform Nahariya after dark.
The festival is part of the wider Yalla Galil Festival, a regional celebration showcasing culture, tourism, music, art, and family attractions across the Galilee throughout August.

Good to Know
Visitors should note that glass bottles, folding chairs, and pets are not permitted within the event areas. Organisers also recommend arriving after sunset to enjoy the installations at their brightest.
