Israeli sailor Gaia Datiashvili finished seventh among 89 girls at the ILCA 6 Youth European Championship in Thessaloniki, Greece. Representing Hapoel Zvulun Acre, she opened with a race victory, overcame a difficult stretch that included a disqualification, and returned to the front with third- and first-place finishes early in the finals.
The result extends Datiashvili’s run near the top of international youth sailing after two consecutive fourth-place European finishes and a top-ten world championship result. Teammate Yahav Geva, also of Hapoel Zvulun Acre, placed 11th in the boys’ field, while Gal Einav finished 15th. The squad now turns its attention to the youth world championship.
